Hosting a food drive is one of the easiest ways to join our mission and to become a Food Helper yourself! Whether is is your business, charitable group, congregation, school team, or even individuals who want to do their part, we can help you host a food drive for Greater Washington County Food Bank. There are two ways to host a food drive: a traditional food drive and a Virtual Food Drive.

Virtual Food Drive

What is a Virtual Food Drive? Greater Washington County Food Bank has an alternative solution to traditional food drives. Rather than spending time, effort, and money into paying retail prices for canned goods, GWCFB provides individualized Virtual Food Drives on our website where we can use our special buying power to extend dollars even further and making it fun and easy to help!

How is it Better? Since we can purchase in bulk at wholesale, we can triple the number of meals we can provide per dollar donated, extending our ability to help those in need.

Where Do My Dollars Go? 100% of all funds raised are allocated towards the purchase of food for the Food Bank.

Traditional Food Drive

What to Collect? Canned goods (fruits, vegetables, soups, tuna, chicken, beans, shelf-stable foods). Please avoid glass containers, perishable items, and expired food.

How It Works? Set a collection period and promote your drive. Collect canned and shelf-stable items. Drop donations off at the warehouse in Brownsville or schedule a pickup with the GWCFB team.

Who Can Do It? A food drive is perfect for businesses, schools, churches, and community groups!
